Where can I check this out?
What is Gamepro?
(And finally I still haven't figured out if Harrison Electrics is the real manufactor of the Z or just a reseller...)

On their website or in the magazine? If it's only in the magazine then is that issue out right now?
I think Harrison is just a U.S. distributor, the maker is DMP in Taiwan.

DMP manufactures some of the components for us, we actually maufacture the Z64,
and GAMEPRO is a US based magazine ( and yes, it is the printed one, not the web site)

Where's your main store?
I purchased my Z at the store in Diamond Bar, Ca. It seemed like a real small place, but it also looked like you could have some real fun screwing around with games and stuff.

Who invented it? And they write the bios right? Also who would be in charge of figuring out how to do the 64 Meg upgrade.

Actually , its not diamond bar, its Walnut.. but its a real small industrial city, and yes, thats us, (we dont need a big office)

Yeah, that's it. I think if I need to upgrade my Z, I'll be coming up there again.
I just hope you guys wont charge me extra for picking up a kit, when I bought my Z, the total came to $410.

Gamepro should be in just about any bookstore or video game store.

I picked up the magazine last night. Maybe I'll scan the article and send it into DX if no one else does by then.

They didn't so much review it as just say what it is and what Nintendo thinks of it.
At least they didn't bash it or anything, but the coverage I think will result in 2 things primarily.
1) Sales of Z64 and related products.
2) More of: "ware can i get pokemon stadeim 2 from please rite back i need it so bad it rox" (Yep that's right, lamers galore)
Maybe I'm wrong, there's probably enough of them around to not make much of a noticable difference. Just be prepared to get a few new Juniors on here.

I'm not opinionated, I just talk a lot.

And you know that Gamepro readers are the lamest of the lame http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/wink.gif
Backup units are prohibitively expensive for the casual pirate though. I am more concerned about the continuing development of N64 emulators.

They are not emulators. In the article, they kept saying emulator. What's being emulated? Do these people know what "emulate" means? The n64 is doing the work, it's only reading the info from the z64. There's no emulating involved. It's a backup device. Stupid Gamepro fools. http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/frown.gif

Well if you think about it... the Z64 and other backup units are "emulating" an n64 game cartridge.

They was talking about Gameboy emulation on the Z. Also the article said "Nintendo has never filed suit against any manufacturer of a backup system" but I thought they sued Bung and the Wildcard 64 makers.

Nintendo sued Bung? Not that I know of. They did go after one of Bung's distributors (Carl Industries) tho the case was settled out of court.
The Z64 may be prohibitively expensive for the casual pirate, but the v64jr costs only about as much as 2 or 3 new games.
There's always going to be lamers. When they figure out that UltrHLE sucks then they go buy a backup device and then ask more dumb questions about how to use it. N64 emulators have probably been a boom to business for N64 backup device makers, gave them so much free advertising.
