I just downloaded Paladin 2.2 and tried to convert destruction derby usa version to pal but when I tried it I still got a msg:
"Invalid tv system" or something.
does paladin works on all roms?

heres what I wrote:

d:\paladin /r dd64.rom

is there anything wrong with that line?

Thanks for your help. http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif

You have to use /f to remove country-protection (which is the reason for the message)

Where did you get your Z? Did you buy it new from one of the distributors or did you buy a used one. It sounds as if you have one of those first run V3's which always overheated and froze during gameplay.

Personally I think you purchased the wrong backup unit. I'm very pleased with my Dr. 64. It was very hard at first to learn everything you need to know, but soon it's all just very simple. I think everyone has problems with roms freezing at times. For me Rampage and Rampage 2 will freeze guaranteed every time I play. Mario Golf freezes when I multi-play, and recently Road Rash froze on me. I don't know if these freezes are because in a ROM format it just isn't as stable as in cart format, or if it's because the Dr 64 cannot function correctly with the roms. But with 200 more games to play that don't freeze, I guess I'll live with the few that do, and maybe even BUY them, god forbid.

I`ve had my Doc for about 18 Months and very very rarely do i ever have a problem with freezes or anything, when i hear people all over the place who are fed up with the Z64 etc... Im just glad i bought the right Backup Unit in the 1st place.

Here we go again about saying Z64 is crappy because it always frezes. The truth is they do NOT- only those early V3's did. If people are having games freeze on newer V3's then they just got a bad download of a game. BTW notice Yoshi say he's had a little freezing trouble with his doc.

V64 over here too, only two times it ever froze. Once on Hybrid Heaven because I played it for too long, and once on Silicon Valley but that's coz I had the ex-pak in.
V Happy with the V64.

Hey, this may be a stupid question, but what is and how would I get a "bad" download of a game? I've downloaded Rampage 1 and Rampage 2 twice each to make sure the freezing wasn't because of the rom I was using. I didn't think there was any difference how you download it, or who you download it from, unless of course someone corrupts the rom before they zip it up and release it.

I do still enjoy my V64, and think I have less problems with the v than people do with the Z, but that could be completely wrong. http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif Now, let's get a darned 512 M upgrade or system on the market for us V64 Senior users.

I've seen some web sites distrubuting bad copies of Rampage 2 which lock up when playing. You probably got one of those.

Of course, if you download it twice from the same site, you're going to get two identical copies with the exact same problem!
