View Full Version : Question for all the release groups, and regulars in general

I just want to know why everyone can't just get the games and dump them and enjoy them and be kind of like, more friendly about it.
YTF do we have to read how some guy from this group called a guy from that group a fucker and all that crap and I'm leaving your group to join another one and all that shit. Like Sweed said here, he's in the same group and Hectic but hasn't spoken to him ever.
Fine, if you like to camp outside a shop to get the first release then that's great, gives you a release, gives you points on the board, and gets you some respect from the scene, but why's all this shit so damn unfriendly? I don't understand it, I never have, and I never will.
I think some people have a point when they say game playing is sad, but not in general, just in these circumstances, if wanting to release a game first makes you get all threatening over it and arguing with, or turning your back on fellow sceners, then something must be wrong with you. I'm not giving it some hippy crap like let's all love each other, I just want to know YTF some people in the scene seem to have a major ego problem, just for the sake of a few games.

I'm not opinionated, I just talk a lot.

.....and nintendo, sony and sega would all get together to make one machine and then give it away, with a function to download the games for free..... Well, we're getting there.

Vert-I'm not in that group anymore(or I hope not:3)) But I know you were just quoting. For the most part, I think people get along fine. I think the only people who don't get along are dale and...everybody. But I guess it's his fault, he does always have some smart shit to say. I thought he was a dick scince the first posts he made.

As a newcomer to the scene a few months ago, I'm just now getting used to how things work. I've been pretty quiet through all the back and forth bickering between Dale and TC, and now between Dale and EVERYONE. http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif But, we need to realize that Dale is Dale.. he will not change.. not for us.. not for the scene.. not for Pamela Anderson.. well maybe. I've found myself respecting him at the same time I'm laughing at what he says, and noticing how much of a major a$$ he's making of himself. Vertigo-- Dale has sort of the same problem you do sometimes.. you both "go off" on people. You post some pretty "tough" posts when someone says something you disagree with, or misunderstand. Dale goes off on most.. anything. You on the other hand when proven wrong will apologize and let it slide. Dale? He argues more, or calls someone a dick, or moves to another topic to flame someone. Ah well. I once suggested that a UBB section be made for "group discussions", but people said it would be a waste of space on the UBB. But what are Dale and the others doing with the "space" in N64 scene and Instant Game Verdicts? http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif
I just want to let all groups/people involved in the whole N64 scene, no matter how small of a part you play.. you keep me entertained on a daily basis. With the games or the arguing or even damn PAL roms I can't get working on my NTSC machine, it's all been a great experience. Much respect to EVERYONE, including Dale.

You'd be surprised how many N64 games this works with!

Yoshi_5>>> Yes, I admit, I do often go off at someone if I don't agree and, as you say, if my information is incorrect I will listen to what is said and take it all in and apologise if I've gone a bit mad. This doesn't happen with dale though, what with all the irc log quoting and the 'you said this, he said that' childish bickering type of argument.
Maybe it's because I'm fairly capable of getting a pretty comprehensive argument across in one post and I'm also a fairly easy going person that the differences between my arguments and dale's are noticable.
Well who knows, from another thread that's been started somewhere here it seems dale has been banned, which may or may not be a good thing, but at least we can get back to discussing the things that are the reason for the existance of Dextrose, the games and the scene in general, and I for one am glad of that.
