DK game help (GAME, not rom)

Could someone give me some help with this game?

In the desert levels, there's a wall that's inaccessible due to the quicksand. I know that Donkey can become invincible and walk on it, but how do I destroy the wall?
I did it once already, but I lost that savegame and I can't remember how to get in.

Do you all find the water levels much less fun than the rest of the game? I really do not like these levels at all.

And, to be honest, I never liked the water levels in any of the DK games, but that's probably because I'm such a crap swimmer (in videogames.)
