Who called it Flash RAM? If it's RAM (Random Access Memory), then why would it be flashed?

The origin of the name "Flashram" probably came from one of Titanik's nfos. I don't know what N offically call it.

Isn't "Flash Memory" used for digital cameras, mp3 players and the like, or is that something totaly different? I figured that the memory in the n64 carts were something similar to that.

From what Titanic said in the .NFO and in IRC channels at the time, I was under the impression that the Japanesse version of Pokemon Snap (which is the first time "flash ram" surfaced) had some sort of strange adaptor built into it, where you could plug a flashram cart from a camera into the cart, take your pictures then remove it to plug into a camera, or whatever you wanted to to do with your pokemon pictures...
