Ok, so i've now had a chance to play ISS2k for longer than just my luch break. First impressions were the same as before. 2k lacks a bit of polish. The players, whilst looking better than Evo's when standing still, are a little poorly animated. They don't seem as smooth as their psx counterparts. That goes for the animation throughout the game really. The replays stop abrubptly which is quite annoying. The ball in 2k does this back & forth on a string type trick which again, is odd looking and spoils the atmsphere.
ISS2k appears to have more and better options available for game selections etc.
The main difference seems to be that ISS2k is more 'arcadier' than Evo, which plays more like a simulation of football.
Overall, i've got no choice but to say Evo is the better of the two.

Wrong! I'm Italian and am not only a die hard Liverpool fan but play non league football which is why many couch players often find arcade footy fun. (not that there's anything wrong with couch footballers btw) http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif
Have u actually taken time to play both ISS2k AND ISS Evolution? As it's exclusively those 2 that i'm comaring with.
1 other thing I realised throughout the days play of 2k, the formations and tactics selection are much better than Evo's.
I would say the front end and options are better in 2k and the actual playing of a game, goes to Evo.

Well, speaking as someone who plays football more or less everyday, I'd have to go with ISS2K, or rather Perfect Striker 2, as ISS games in english lose that special 'something' for me. I really liked Evo, but when it comes down to it, if you're playing a equally skilled person, nothing beats Perfect Striker 2. The tactical aspects just feel more 'right' (strange, considering Evo's meant to be the more sim like) and nothing beats playing a game like this with the N64 controller.
Still, I have to say I'm slightly disappointed with ISS2K. The stats are screwed up (look at Figo and Rivaldo's for example). Perfect Striker 2's international teams were more accurate (except for the Japanese team's). And the Hi-Res graphics aren't very good. I was hoping for some changes, seeing it's been a year since Perfect Striker 2 came out, but it wasn't to be. Still, there's always the PS2 ISS to look forward to. And, of course, the inevitable Dolphin version.... ^_^

That's fine, you like the PSX version better, who cares? Reading your recent posts, it seems you desperately want to start a Nintendo vs Sony war for some reason.

Actually...although a bit unfair...the best version of ISS in my opinion right now is ISS on the Playstation2. I just received the game 3 days ago and it really is VERY good. It has all the best things from all the series...success mode, longer replays (u can save them too :)) ect ect...the gameplay feels more like the N64 version which is better IMO...and the graphics are unbelievable...the players have teeth and fingers FFS LOL. BUT like i said its a bit unfair to compare a PS2 game with a N64. However, if u want to play the best ISS version of the game, u have to get the PS2 version IMO. :)

Crow: That's funny, I thought this was a discussion forum. Where ppl discussed ideas and opinions. You could say 'Who cares' to practically any post on this board. Not a gr8 attitude to have is it?
As 4 me starting a Nintendo V Sony war, you are wrong. I have to admit that I LOVE to wind up Nintendo fanboys! But I also love to wind up Sony fanboys and sega fanboys on the respective forums. You mention other topics i've been in, well, perhaps you should mention that when I even MENTIONED the fact that I had played ISS2k and that it didn't look as good as the psx version, I got flamed for it. Even though those guys hadn't played Evolution.
So which one are you? If you are a fnaboy, then forget it, i've no time for you unless it's to wind u up.
If you're just wanting to stop an argument, well, don't take no notice of me, i'm just a wind up merchant!

Yes, this is a discussion board, a N64 one in case you didn't notice.

Oh.... Sorry. so ISS2k isn't out on the N64 no?
Sorry, did I get your goat by daring to say a bad thing about a Nintendo game.
fanboy.
See - I love it!

You can think whatever you want, I could care less. But if I was such a "fanboy" (what kind of stupid phrase is that anyway?) I would assume that means I like only Nintendo. Well, I hate to break it to you, but I like Sega as well, and own systems from both companies.
I guess your opinion of a "fanboy" is anyone who dislikes the PSX.

Tut, tut, tut....
Why r u getting so upset?
and why r u insinuating that I love psx? I haven't mentioned ANY toerh game on that format, I haven't mentioned SOny as a company and I haven't tried to compare psx V Nintendo. All I've talked about in this post is ISS. Which one I prefer and why.
I've given what I think is a middle of the road view, offered what's best and worst in either version and concluded by saying which one I prefer.
But ppl like u take it personally.
How come I haven't had 20 ppl giving me logical arguments FOR ISS2k?
And don't try to twist it on me. I'M not a fnaboy. I own the N64, the DC a psx and a decent PC and I love all of them.
You don't see me getting my knickers in a twist do you?
Oh, and finally, the word 'fanboy' is a widely used word by almost everyone who knows about games. The fact that you've never heard of it suggests that you'r not really a knowledgeable gamesplayer.

fanboy is only a term widely used by psx faggots and sega queers who have no good games to play. they sit around, surf the net all day, and come up with fancy "gamer" terms that only they use so they can make themselves feel hardcore.

Heheh. Well said filler! u see? A perfect example of a fanboy. For u're info, fanboy was being used long before Sony even entered the console war. It was being used when the snes & megadrive were around.
Oh, and u obviously don't read other ppl's posts properly.
U're still accusing me of being a sony biased fan even though I own and love all 4 of my games playing systems.
very logical of u.
Maybe there are some grown ups who would like 2 join in this post who are able to actually hold a conversation.
Actually, I think this is one of MY problems. I get pissed at ppl like u for saying really dim things. It's only after I think about it that I realise that these replyes are made by young kids. 14? 15?
oh well. Who cares anyway.
No-one has still pointed out a logical reason against my saying that ISS evo is better than ISS2k. Obviously i'm right then and many others agree but are too afraid of saying so because they'll get flamed.
Me? I speak my mind. I'll say what I believe to be true. and I play and love gr8 games. COuldn't give a flying f'k WHO makes em and on what machine they're on!
Final word. done.

sorry girth but i just cant take anyone who uses terms like "fanboy" and "console war" seriously. its weird but i never accused you of being a sony biased fan. did the words "psx faggot" strike a nerve with you?
in my opinion iss 2000 is better than iss evolution because iss 2000 is on a cartridge and iss evolution is on a cd.

I love it when other ppl make themselves look stupid.
"in my opinion iss 2000 is better than iss evolution because iss 2000 is on a cartridge and iss evolution is on a cd."
Thankyou. Thankyou SO much for writing that. You've proved my point about ppl being illogical and biased better than ANYTHING I could ever say would!

I'm happy now. I'll happily close this post, lay back with a big smug grin on my face and laugh...........

Oh, and u obviously don't read other ppl's posts properly.
It seems you don't either. I never said in my post that I never heard of the term "fanboy". What I said was it's a stupid term. It's one of those words that you don't hear people saying anymore after they hit the age of say, 15 (or earlier).

ive been gone for some time now, so dont think i was retired by girth. i was off fighting the "console war". (You know that REALLY important battle that the whole world is talking about.)
in my opinion iss 2000 is better than iss evolution because iss 2000 doesnt make you lose your sense of humor.
