Nice, all I can say. I've been to dailyradar.com and they have some mpegs of the mario 128 demo and other movies. In my opinion I like mpeg more than MOV, like at ign. Anyways, this console looks nice, not too fancy though. The first time I saw it, I was like, uggh....what an ugly piece of shit. Then I started picturing it in different colors and just from seeing it more, made me like it...plus the system specs are damn good =). So...I am definatley in the market for a NGC as soon as they are due out in the states. If anyone in my household complains about it's looks, i'll just put a paperbag over it. And the controller, I like it, lots of people are saying that it doesn't look good, well...I beg to differ =p. I like the idea of the mini-dvds. You can carry them around in their cases in your pockets easier than the normal cd cases. They look cooler, higher techer (hehe, no such word) and they are just different. The modem is a great idea, I like the options for 56k and faster. Also, I'd like a good multiplayer game of NGC Quake II deathmatch with someone besides my 8 yr old sister. The IR controller is indeed cool, cords get in my way, I hate winding them up after a good few hours of playing Banjo-Kazooie on my N64...sorta a nusence. Anyways, this console looks promising. Check out #NGCube on EFNet if you want to hang out and chat about it.

Definatly an ugly looking thing, but the little discs r just another precaution to stop people like us copying them. http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
There will be no NGC iso's on the net like with DC and PS.
hmmm, i wonder how people will get around the new protection schemes when this master piece comes out.

If the code is made, it can be cracked...That's what I think anyways. Heh. Everything else has been cracked, basically. Including the elusive Bleem! Key CD. 8cm, I'm not sure....put most PC CD-Roms have that little small CD-Rom space in the tray...the DISCs might work in certain CD-Rs or even just plain readers...then again bung might get it....I dunno. I just hope they get cracked =p.

yes but surely the disc sizes are going to be problematic aren't they? what with ninty saying the smaller disc increases loading speed its going to be troublesome. I foresee recordable dvd becomeing very cheap within a year or so (I used a cd recorder - not player - 2x back in 1996 and it cost 2500 ukp - and blank cds were around 7 quid each) wether this has any bearing or not i dont know - their copy protection looks formidable - but I reckon a chip! will be released -(I wonder if they get rid of those stupid security screws ???) will bung/mr backup release a cd/dvd addon ??? http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

actually, it may be. Sony has a 77mm cd in its new uber mavica that looks similar to nintendo's system. If not, lets just wait for panasonics system that will accept dvd's and burn the games to dvds
just some broken, disjointed thought to add.

When I first got into CD recording, the first ones we got were about Ģ3,500. Blank disks were about Ģ15 each and you needed at least a 486-dx2-66 to run it. The money that was wasted on ruined disks was unbelievable.
Anyhoo, I reckon if the 8cm DVD format is widely used for other things like PC games (you dont need nearly 20gigs for PC games at the moment http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/smile.gif then these blanks may become available, but dont hold your breath.
What we need is a "CD-GC / Z-GC" that reads full size DVD.

I read that the gamecube disks will have microscopic holes in them which will be read by the dvd drive to prevent piracy. But i looks like its gona kick ass have you read the spec! I always have a nintendo anyway.

you'll have a hard time downloading 1 GByte over the Internet...
you'll have a hard time burning unexisting CDs...
better start saving big money now...

With the imminent release of ADSL in the Uk, slow download times should become a thing of the past, apparently Sony are going to tout there own broadband service for the PS2 http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/cool.gif

FYI: You can get hacked using ADSL/Cable cuz it's always on. Not that safe just to say IMHO.
