The transfer pack (as used on Pocket Monsters) etc. Would it possible to use these to write games to the Bung Flash ram carts...

Carlos do explain your theory of it is possible because I'd be very interested in hearing what you have to say.
Erm, in my opinion: You'd have to have the N64 turned on to power the transfer pak, so you'd have to write a ROM that allows communication between the N64 and the pak, and then to transfer GB ROMs to it you'd have to incorporate the GB ROMs into the N64 ROM because the N64 doesn't communicate with the V64's CD drive.
So I'd say no.
[EDIT] Here's a thought... you know those interfaces to connect your N64 pad to the PC, maybe you could do that and make an app that lets the transfer pak write to the Flash cartridge, or alternatively you could make your own version of the Dexdrive software and plug the transfer pak into that and again enable write to the whole cartridge. It's a long shot though.

I am only interested in developers to reply to this. EG you load the GB ROM into a N64 V64 image via dos eg to load tetris.gb:
copy /b n64topack.v64 + tetris.gb
download this file to Doctor64. Which would transfer the game to GB flashram via the N64 iamge. Its not hard its possible as long as Nintendo have allowed all possible connections to the GB cart from the Joypad.
They obviously allow writing to SRAM.

the Z64 is able to communicate with the controller pack of the N64 controller why isn't the V64 able to do that too ?

Yes, but I don't see why Nintendo would bother putting ROM writing into the transfer pak...

When you are using the Z's OSD it is a ROM running on the N64. The V64's OSD is running onth e V64 itself, and isin't a ROM running through the N64.
