Ok just to ask why my dx-256 saves well 4kb games but doesn't work(the roms are beeing boot on the actual cartridge mario 64 so it launch mario!!) without the emulation adaptater or the ds-1,Is it not supposed to be an emulation adaptator by itself?

It is not supposed to be an emulation adaptor by itself. It is designed that way so that it will work with both originals and backups.

it needs a mod, most were sold moded i guess yours wasn't.
