I don't know if this would be the best area to post this but anyway, My Z64 Bios V2.11C, yes I said C, and anyway I got it from Harrison Electronics and it has a problem after an hour or so of use and I have to wait an hour or so to use it again, and I think this is associated with the over heating with the single chip motherboard that was released in 3.0 HW.

I don't think its related to hw3 z64's. I have a 2.11C as well that i bought from harrison and I've had it on so far for about 10 hrs at one time and it has never overheated or stopped working.

I'm having trouble with mine and overheating. Once it's running I have no problem, but after that, when it's warm, I can't turn it back on again without waiting for it to cool down. I have a fan on it so this problem isn't so bad, but it's definitely related to 3 chips combined into 1. I'd take it apart and put a heat sink or fan in, but that voids the warranty.

I'd have to agree with Sniper on this and say that no one should settle for a system that overheats,It's just not right.I no for a fact there are units that dont overheat,I would atleast ask them to trade yours in untill you get one that works without overheating!!

86 emailing and call them untill they offer some kind of assistance, ask for felix,he's the only one more than likely you'll understand there.

Guess what, I'm going to pay a visit to Harrison Electronics on Thursday Dec 31. They said we could pay for your shipping or we could do it while you wait, I picked while I wait. Felix said he would add a heat sink on the cpu to help disipate heat.

Its interesting to read this issue about overheating..

I have placed a small fan over my unit and have it on everytime I use the Z64. Not for the fact that it ever stopped working, or gave me problems - though after ejecting the disks after lengths of use, I found them to be unusually hot.....

How many other people have this problem ?

I have a 2.11b model.

Get a shoebox and put your nintendo on it.

Or something similar. maybe some special inch high spacer legs on the bottom?

This allows air to get around the bottom of the nintendo & keep it cool.

Frankly Im not sure if its the nintendo getting hot or the Z getting hot. I think the Nintendo generates more heat and it flows up into the Z.

So, something to allow air to circulate around the nintendo should work scientifically. You know, not too close to a wall or the floor, etc.
