Doctor GB 4mbit

Okay, I know this isn't exactly the place to
post this, but well... I don't know where else to post it. :P I was wondering, when the
DGB isn't plugged into the PC, it saves the
games in DRAM, just like the V64jr. Well...
the V64jr uses batteries to save the DRAM,
but DGB doesn't. How does it work? Anybody

What I read from DOC GB FAQ is:

your game data is stored as flash rom(no battery needed). However, it contains small calculator-stye battery(I forget the specific name), which will last several years.(again, like calculator does)
That's what I understand how it works from FAQ. I am seriously considering buying this product but I don't know what Multi- Game doctor 3 is.. What does that mean by '..a series of MGD' ???? and 'back by poplular demand..'(from Bung site) please, give me some enlightening. Is this supposed to be a standard linker device for computer and series of each cartridge emulators??

pretzel you don't need to worry about the other devices in the series. They are not needed nor are they compatable with the doc gb. The different devices are just rom emulators for different systems (snes, nes, and now n64 and Gb). All you need to use the Doc gb is a gameboy and a pc. I am not positive it is compatable with the color gb but I don't see why it wouldn't be.

I would wait to get this thing if i were you. Because its only 4 mbit and many games like zelda are 8 mbit some even larger. I think the biggest one i saw was 16mbit but i might be wrong. SO the 4mbit unit wont work with some of the best games. It does work with color gameboy though.

The 4mb is in comp terms I believe.Not Nintendo terms. The zelda gb rom is only 512Kb on my hard drive. About a 1/2 a mb. I am pretty sure this is what bung is going by.
Again I am not positve about this but I can't see them selling a device that is incompatable with almost all gb games.

Actually, the 4mb figure is megabits not Megabytes. Your Zelda game of 512 Kilobytes is 4mb, or the current limit of the DOC GB. Bung's website indicates that a 16 megabit GB CARD will be available soon.

Also i heard that bung isn't shipping the doc gb yet so don't order them from bung or anyone else yet unless you want a long wait.
I guess they are still working on it. Why they put it on there page for ordering already, I don't know. I will definately wait

I'd rather just use one of the 40 gameboy emulators....at least that is one unit that can really be emulated :-)

Yes there are many good gb emulators. But the handheld is still great for long drives and the like. Speaking of emulators. Is it possible to save using the gamebooster gb emulator with a v64-n64? Do you need a ds1 or anything special?

I take it from Bung's homepage that one would need the GB X-changer to really get the full use out of the GB Card. Does anyone have any idea on when either one will be released?

I found this in a GBC FAQ. So what I have gathered is that the current GB Card from bung us only 4Mbits?

256KBit - 16MBit for GB compatible games. Up to 64MBit ROM & 128KBytes RAM for CGB cartridges.

So will Bung release a bigger GB Cart?

the bigger cart is available at the end of january (so im told) it is 16mbit instead of 4

Yes thats what I have heard to, but what about later on when a 64bit comes out? i'm sure its aways off but want to be prepared ya know?
