I heard from this kid who has a friend that works with nintendo and he said that there will be a gameboy console that will let you play n64 games on it, but it is just a prediction of like a gameboycolor3 being released by the year 2002 or 2003.
but that is what i just heard

Damn, I hate dickhead kids who beleive the my friend say thing. There will be a handheld console from Nintendo that is between the power of the Super Famicom and Nintendo64. Therefore one might guess that it would be 32 bit probably. It will take on the same sort of shape as a Sega Gamegear most probably.

There wont be one any time soon... Gameboy is still selling VERY well in Japan and USA... Nintendo will ride that out as long as they can... No point in adding to the handheld market when your unit is already BY FAR #1.

Just a thought, which one out of the GBC and the Sega GameGear (That old piece of plastic) has more colours? It's been a looong time since I remember playing on a GameGear...

I think Game Gear had better picture and graphics. The backlit screen was very nice but battery intensive and there was an adapter to play Master System games on it. But it was a bit bulky and I think it needed 6 AA batteries which adds weight.

The GBC can have upto 56 colors on the screenat a time, the GameGear could only have 32.
But the GameGear could use 16 colors per tile or sprite, the GBC can only use 4 for tiles, and 3 + transparent for sprites.

The reason why I asked, was because the technology which was available during the time when the GameGear was being developed must've been Very low compared to when the GBC was being built.
I haven't played on a GBC http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/frown.gif, but from the Screen shots It seems that it's on roughly the same level as the GameGear (In terms of technology).
If you consider the technology increase from the NES to the N64, you would expect the same type of increase from the GameBoy to GameBoy-Color. wouldn't you? I guess we were wrong eh? http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/frown.gif
I still think that the GBC is a good demonstration on how advanced the MicroElectronics industry is. It takes only 2 AA batteries and can last up to 15 Hours continuous play - I got this data from Nintendo Official Magazine (UK). This must be the compromise between High Processing power & power consumption.

If found this article about the gbc2 on http://gameboy.f3d.net
i figured that he was right
Nintendo does want to upgrade their popular gamboy because who knows, sega might come out with something gay and neo geo pocket could outbeat the gbc1

Nintendo has already made a press announcment at E3 or whatever saying there will be a new Color Game Boy that holds more colors then the current color gameboy, with a sharper screen, etc...
I just wish someone didn't steal my GBC and GBX so I could flash some of these new re-done NES roms on them. Damn .... http://www.dextrose.com/ubb/frown.gif
