I know everyone hates me and thinks Im obsessed with Game Boy emulators.... BUT...

I noticed this on PSX.IGN today:

"
Game Boy Emulator?
Visoly Inc., the Asian hardware company responsible for the Game Enhancer (the mod-chip alternative to play Japanese and copied games on the PlayStation), and the Z64 backup device for the Nintendo 64, is making something new - and very weird. There has been no announcement just yet, as the company is still in the development stages of it, but Visoly is hard at work on a Game Boy emulator. That's right, only this time, you'll be able to play Game Boy games on your PlayStation. Yes, little Bobby, you can play Pokemon on your PlayStation. There are limitations, however. The emulator will only work with black and white titles, and there is not sound. Hmmm… Still interested?
"

I find this very interesting, does this mean they are working on thier own GB emulator, or are they just going to rip off Datel's Game Booster like everyone seems to (Game Hunter, Game Flash, ect, ect)

If it's the latter, they should let me know as I seem to of become an expert on it :>

I wish Nintendo whould just get on with releasing the N64 version of the Super Game boy (Ultra Gameboy? anyone)

Anyway, lookout for my "how hax0r the gamebooster and make cash from it" webpage.. for only 20$ you too can make a fortune...

Pooh, that's who

Hey, you're not the only one obsessed with gb emu's (that save...)

I saw a PS GameBoy adapter in my local Electronics Boutique, I think it's made by Datel in the UK who are athe same people who made Gameshark/Action Replay and the Gamebooster.

Is that what you were on nabout or is this a software thing? I.e. some sort of gb emu on a PS CD with GB games as well??

Has anyone managed to get the Wideboy thingummy to do anything other than display a nice screen showing a Gameboy that you can zoom in on???

Well, just to clear up a few points..

It seems datel have a new version of the Game Booster that plays colour games in clour, to quote an email from them:

"
Hi,
We have not released a new version yet, when we do, there still will not be any sound, but it will play more games and also color gameboy games. But we are not sure if we are going to release it yet

Now this is interesting, what I assume is going on is that they are waiting for nintendo to decided what they are going to do with their SuperGameboy for the n64 (Ultra Gameboy?) which should be the comercial version of the WideBoy..

On a side note, there will never be a crack for the wideboy. The wide boy is (like the supergameboy) basicaly a CGB inside a n64 cart, its I/O is mapped into an area of the n64s cartridge, and the software is just DMA'in the data from this area to the screen,ect...

So far, I've discovered that Datel have the Gamebooster and interact have a us version of the same thing.. EMS has a GB Hunter device which is possible a rip off of the GameBooster (I have yet to see one, but they make cheap clones of the ActionReplay, so logicaly.....) and Visoly are making thier device now...

So the future is looking quite bright for play GameBoy games on the n64
